Applebee's was good! Dec.10/2010

Applebee's Neighbourhood Grill & Bar
Things took a surprising turn around when we had dinner at Applebee's on Mackenzie and Shelbourne at the new Tuscany Mall where Thrifty Foods is located.
We didn't expect it to be so good!  I had a pasta shrimp bowl with a Alfreldo sauce and cheese grated on top, it was delicious and Red had platter of combined chicken wings and rib-lets with fries and gravy.
The person who helped us to our table made a mistake with Red's beer and the waitress made a few minor errors but she was very polite, up-beat and very pleasant.

Summgler's Cove Pub, Cadbora Bay, Friday Dec.3/10

Arrived 6:00pm-ish just before the pub started to fill up.  Good waitress, served us immediately with our drink preference.  I ordered my favorite 'Nachos' and Red ordered a New York steak with added up-grade in size.  The waitress informed us that they had made a mistake with the Nachos and had added beef (cook making a mistake reading the order with the extra re: stake) and if I didn't mind I could have it for no extra charge.  That was okay with me but they came well-done around the edges and top as well.  Wasn't too, were not exceptional though. salsa did not have much favour and we payed extra for the guacamole.  Red confessed that his stake tasted like a sirloin.  Mediocre food but good service and the coffee was excellent.
